In order to effectively improve the quality of national self-science and social science project application, the School of Finance held the National Natural Science/Social Science Project Application topic Research and judgment meeting in the east meeting room on the second floor of Wing Zhen Building on the afternoon of October 26, 2022. Professor Tao Changqi from the School of Statistics, Professor GUI Hefa from the School of Finance, Professor Hu Yuancheng and Professor Yan Wu were invited to participate in the research and decision meeting of the subject application. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Chonghui, vice president of the School of Finance.

At the beginning of the meeting, Jiang Chonghui thanked the experts for coming and hoped that the teachers applying for the national project next year could further modify and improve the topic selection of the project based on the experts' opinions and suggestions. At the meeting, the experts put forward helpful and constructive opinions on the topics of 11 teachers, namely Zhang Xiao, Tang Jinghua, Potential Potential, Lai Shaojie, Chen Xiaohua, Hu Zhijun, Tan Yingxian, Wang Qing, Zhu Guanping, Han Yao and Zhang Tong.

Tao Changqi stressed that the application of social science projects must be repeatedly mulled over, repeatedly modified, and pointed out that a social science project topic to attract the attention of experts must go through the process of negation of negation. At the same time, Tao gave general advice on the writing of key scientific questions and research objectives in the project application. Key scientific questions should be described and written around the logic of what the scientific questions are, why they matter, and how to solve them; Research objectives can generally be written in terms of two theoretical objectives and one practical objective.

Hu Yuancheng said that the project topic should be considered and modified in combination with the research content. The topic is the concentration of the research content and the research content is the expansion of the topic. Hu Yuancheng also stressed that in the process of writing the project declaration, the research ideas should be clear, there should be logical links between the research contents, and the innovation points should be highlighted. If there are some improvements in the research methods, it can play a better role. Other experts also put forward specific suggestions from the aspects of topic, overall framework, research content and declaration caliber.

The School of Finance has always attached great importance to the application of national projects. For this reason, the School has formulated the Annual National Self-Science/Social Science Fund Project Application Schedule, which brings the application of national projects into the normal scientific research management process. The holding of this topic selection meeting broadened the thinking dimension for teachers in the topic selection of the project. The topic selection of national projects should not only be combined with the applicant's own research field and research frontier, but also be considered to serve the national strategic needs and other factors. In the future, our institute will continue to create a good atmosphere and working environment for project declaration, fully support and carefully organize project declaration, and strive to make new breakthroughs in national project declaration.
