To continuously promote organized scientific research and deepen academic exchange and cooperation within the school, the School of Finance held the first round of demonstration meeting for 2026 national project applications in the conference room on the east side of the second floor of Yizhen Building on the afternoon of October 17th. Professor Fang Yi from the National Academy of Development and Strategy at Renmin University of China was invited as the keynote speaker, and many teachers from the school, including Zhou Chuang, Yang Chao, Zhong Hao, Lu Siting, and Gao Xiang, participated in the demonstration and exchange.

With the theme of Practical Operations for National-Level Project Applications, Professor Fang Yi gave a systematic explanation on research accumulation, project type selection, and application strategies. He pointed out that scientific research should focus on a few fields, conduct in-depth exploration, form a stable research focus and academic identity, and avoid scattered directions caused by blindly following hot topics. Young teachers should seize the application window for national projects, emphasize team collaboration and continuous accumulation, and build an organized and hierarchical scientific research path. Regarding project type selection, combining his review experience, he compared the characteristics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC). He noted that NSFC projects focus on theoretical and methodological innovation, making them suitable for teachers with solid research foundations and sufficient preparation time; NSSFC projects emphasize policy orientation and alignment with national strategies, being more suitable for teachers familiar with policy issues. Teachers should scientifically select application types based on their research directions, achievement accumulation, and time constraints, pay attention to research accumulation and team cooperation, and enhance project competitiveness.

In the demonstration session, participating teachers reported their proposed projects one by one. Professor Fang Yi commented on each project, putting forward specific improvement suggestions on topic innovation, research framework, and methodological paths. He emphasized the need to further refine the research focus, strengthen academic support, and optimize logical structure. The teachers said they benefited greatly and gained a clearer understanding of the direction for subsequent project revision and application.

This demonstration meeting featured practical content and strong guidance. It not only clarified the ideas for national-level project applications for teachers but also promoted the exchange and sharing of scientific research experience within the school. The School of Finance will continue to improve the scientific research support system to help teachers enhance the quality of project applications and scientific research competitiveness.
